What will Bike riding do for me??

Well i bike ride at least 25-30 minutes each day and i love it. i do it for fun.

i ride at a steady, even pace.. its kind of fast but not too fast.

I think i already see an improvement in my legs... mostly my thighs.
they seem a teeny bit smaller.. but is it from the bike riding??

What kind of body changes will i be able to see by atleast October/November 2007?

Will my thighs be skinnier but yet muscular??
Will it help my upper body too??
Will I loose weight with the way im riding right now??

Please help me. I really want to know!!

thanks in advanced!
and please no stupid answers!!
thank you!

if u ride a lot, u will actually gain weight, but u will look slimmer, yet muscular. muscle weighs more than fat, therefore, excercising will cause u to gain weight, but not in a bad way
it will keep you healthy
you might see some changes in your stomach I can't prove this though. My bike got stolen last october in a move to Texas from California but before then I was riding alot but not everyday but when I was a kid I rode everyday and I have a slender build. I haven't ridden a bike since last october now I am getting a bigger stomach so you can pretty much put two and two together. You can now see my beer gut. I don't know if it will tone down your upper body or not but it might
Cycling as a recreational activity will not cause you to have huge muscle-bound thighs. The only body shaping you will see is loss of fat and slight toning of the existing muscle structure you already have. If you choose to get serious about cycling then you need to understand the two types of muscle fibers that develop from exercise - fast-twitch and slow-twitch. Fast twitch are thin strong fibers that develop with low force, high repetition exercise, like walking. Slow twitch muscle fibers are thick heavier fibers that are best suited for high force, low repetition exercise like power lifting.
People with high amounts of fast twitch muscle are ofter refered to as "wirey". Long distance runners are the best example of that muscle type. People with more slow twitch muscle are thick and bulky. It is possible to completly restucture your body with different type of muscle fiber, the best example of that I know is 5-time olympic gold-medalist Dr. Eric Hiden. As a speed skater he was famous for his enormous thighs that delivered a burst of speed. He later went on to reshape his body with fast twitch muscle and ride as a professional cyclist in the Tour de france.

In cycling it is easy to focus on the type of muscle fiber you want to strengthen by paying attention to your cadence - the number revolutions your feet make per minuite. A cadence of 90 and above is considered ideal for developing fast twitch, a cadence of 60 to 80 is better for slow-twitch development.

The biggest problem that new cyclists make is using a cadence that is too low. This can increase the chance of knee, foot and leg pain. begining cyclists should learn to ride at a cadence of 90. There are many small bicycle computer units that can be attached to your bike that will display your cadence, typically they run about $40 and up.

Your upper body, while not the primary zone of execise in cycling, still experiences a workout when riding, and in fact many riders can improve their performance by doing additional upper body exercise.

Fat loss from exercise cannot be localized! Riding a bike will not make your legs thin and leave your belly fat. Fat loss is spead out equally through the body from exercise.

Ride low gears and a high cadence, do an upper body exercise to compliment your cycling, make sure your bicycle is properly sized for you, and always wear a helmet. All your exercise will be for nothing if you bonk your head and become a vegtable.
