Best led tail light for winter commuting.? |
Best led tail light for winter commuting.? Nite rider tail light is the brightest tail light out there, on my bike I have two, one flashing and one steady both wired up to a 13.2 battery, keeps me safe commuting home on busy New York streets try Ebay, I've bought a number of LED torches from sellers in China and had no problems For brightness look for LED's 1watt or more or try Luxeon lights Most LED lights are pretty good, I would not support the purchase of the lighting kits that costs hundreds of pounds. Instead buy and fit cheap LED lights (in the plural) Reasons? If one fails you have a working back up. A stand alone flashing light is illegal in the UK, but you can pair it up with a steady red.(flashing rear lights are far more visible from a distance!) Its far cheaper! If you use rechargeable batteries then you have an efficient system. Food for thought eh? Hope this helps. Try the Planet Bike Superflash - stupid name and stupid bright. That thing hurts to look at. Cat Eye do a long tail light of 5 flashing LEDs. This can be mounted horizontally or vertically. I also ride with one attached to my hydration pack and some club members have helmet LEDs. I would recommend 2 units as the bike mounted one can sometimes become obscured, especially with saddle mounted tool bags or water bottles. Luck |
