How many different types/categories/numbers of climbs are there in the Tour de France?

And what order are they in from closer to flat to steepest/more ascending?

There are 4 category climbs (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) that offer points and an 'HC' or an Uncategorised climb that dont offer any points at all. For sprinters and evey that is not a good climber, they prefer to have 4th category climbs, where it is easier to get over, but offers fewer points. 1st category climbs are the toughest enduRANCE of man, where only selct riders (this year's TDF, it offered atleast 25 riders who would stay in the pepeton) who can survive them, and pick up the huge points available

Well done alberto! (Ur a true climber!)
5 different clasifications. Category 4, 3, 2, 1 & HC, which stands for "beyond category". Cat 4 is the easiest and offers the fewest ponts and HC is the toughest and offers the most points. If the day's stage ends on a Cat 2 or tougher, the points are doubled.
there are technically 5.
cat 4
3
2
1
and hc
hc stands for hors catagory
which translates into beyond catagory
alp duhez is obviously hc while your local hill might not be a catagory climb at all
