Which is the better mid-size cruiser bike: Kawasaki Vulcan 500 or Honda Shadow 600? |
I've got a Honda Shadow 600 and am looking to purchase another bike for my wife. I'm leaning towards the Kawasaki, because of the engine performance and the fact that its a nice mid-size motorcycle. Which is more reliable and maintenance free? Or just plain more fun to drive? i prefer hondas myself, why not get a shadow 750 for you and give her the 600. or check out the suzuki 650 savage, nice big single cylinder thumper The Kawasaki has more power, so you won't go tired of it as fast. I think the Kawasaki is higher maintenance, as I believe it needs valve clearance adjustment at every service (the Honda, if I remember correctly, only needs valve clearance adjustment every other service). I think the Kawasaki will be more fun to ride, for sure. I bet it has close to 50% more horsepower than the Honda. Power doesn't do you a lick of good if your bike always needs fixed. Simple...buy the Honda. As far as metric bikes go, Honda's hold some of the highest resale value, and are notably the most reliable. |
