Im pretty much looking for a cruiser bike. which is best for beginners? |
Honda Rebel 250 Yamaha Virago Kawasaki Eliminator 125 Suzuki Boulevard S40 Suzuki GZ250 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD Im hoping for something economic and easy to ride. and something that can accompany two bodies. Im only interested in cruiser bikes.... thankS! Hands down the Kawasaki Vulcan 500. It is a great bike for beginners and for experienced riders. It is just an all around great bike. Source(s): My own opinion These are all good bikes! Basically you almost can't go wrong with anything Japanese. Cruisers are relatively easy to handle, and good for beginners because they have a low center of gravity. Even big cruisers (like Harley Davidson) are surprisingly easy to ride considering their size and weight. Nearly any bike can carry two people, but if you want to ride 2-up a lot, or go long distances at high speeds, you'll want something bigger than 125 or 250cc. A 500 would be okay. A 750 would be better. Not just for the power but also the size would be more comfortable for 2 people. I would have to vote for the Suzuki S40 or the Vulcan 500...I have the S40 ( well, was called Savage in 04 but same thing) I have had this bike 3 years, and don't feel I've "outgrown" it...I think the 125 and 250 you would outgrow quickly where the S40, while small and light, has ample power...I don't have experience with the Vulcan but had considered that as a first also. You will want to have plenty of experience riding by yourself before carrying a passenger, trust me on this one! Lots of luck to you! The Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD. If you want to accomodate 2 people, anything less than 500cc you are probably going to overload the bike (assuming both people are at least average weight, and not stick figures). Compared with Sport bikes, Cruisers are quite easy and laid back to ride. I've ridden both. The Cruisers are a more laid back feeling when you ride, whereas the Sport Bikes give you the edge-of-your-seat feeling. That said, I prefer Sport bikes, but it's just a personal preference :) Good luck, and watch out for the crazy car drivers! Im what you call a Harley guy but the best of what you listed is by far the Virago. single overhead cam with screw and locknut valve adjusters a bulletproof bottom end low center of gravity and they go like hell!!! mine went 100,000 miles before I even had to adjust the valves. never had a problem with it ever. matter of fact I think Im the only person that built a virago chopper. And that bike is still on da road. If you have the money for a new bike get the yamaha v star. The bottom end is the virago bottom and its a great bike. those little bikes are not worth it,, do or die I say,, you will hate the little ones once you learn how to ride, which is pretty much in the first week,,, the Virago is a good cruiser,,, |
