Harley or Honda who holds their value? |
I am looking to get a harley or a honda cruiser and i am wondering whos bike holds the best value? I want a med to a large bike like the size of the fat boys. No doubt about it, a Harley will hold its value better than a Honda. I don't know of anyone who has selected a bike based on that criteria. Whatever your decision, be sure you select the one you really want, you know, the one that sends your heart beating faster and starts you drooling at the mouth. That's the one you want. Anything less and you won't be happy. Harleys hold their value better - but NO bike is a good investment. One good drop and they are no longer worth very much at all... and costly to repair. A bike is for riding, not investing. Get a used Honda for starters. You'll get a great deal and a great ride. Later, when you are a highly skilled rider, you can get the Harley Fat Boy if you still want it. If you are going to get a bike. Don't get it based on which holds it's value. Get the one you feel passionate about. Talk to people. Decide who you would like to ride with. harleys gain more value with age. hondas need les maintence . are you going ride alot of miles. go with honda Harley's depreciate less over the years and they tend to stay in better condition. Paintwork and chromework is infinately better than a Honda. On the other hand, a Honda will cost you a lot less to buy in the first place. You have to decide American or Japanese, but in my book, there's only one choice............. Honda is by far a better buy and a better bike. Don't limit yourself to these two bikes. The best buy, in my humble opinion, is the Suzuki Boulevard series. The Suzuki M109R is an unbelievable bike at an unbelievable low price for what you are receiving!!!! When I see a 1908 Honda go for a cool 70,000 on ebay like a Harley I saw on auction yesterday, oh, yeah I forgot an ancient Honda is vintage 70's, and those are rare as hen's teeth. |
