What rules do you follow when waving to other motorcyclists? |
This being my first year on a bike, I've noticed a lot of different trends. Some people simply do not wave. Some people seem to wave no matter what. Some people won't wave to riders outside of their bike's category (sport bike riders-harley/general cruisers) What rules do you follow? Me: In town, its usually more of a head. I don't usually wave first to other sport bike riders since so many seem to ignore it. but I'll almost always give some sort of finger lift. ....this kind of thing. Let's hear it kids I wave to everyone on a bike...regardless of what they are on. Yes there are some people that won't wave but what ya gonna do? Just wave and be happy. Sometimes though a wave is better off not done if safety is an issue. At times like those I look right at the other rider and nod my head. Rarely does another rider ignore a nod. when i ride, i just look and nod, or make a slight hand movment. and it mainly stays in the same bike class, but it depends on what you wanna do I wave to most other riders. When I don't wave it is usually because I am turning or working the controls. I ussually only make a slight hand movement to anyone riding a bike. I'm nice like that. I pretty much wave to anyone. As long as I'm not too busy shifting, turning, or in too much traffic. I won't risk a wreck to wave. Pretty much wave to most of them. Don't have any rules to speak of. If I feel like it, then I wave. If they wave first, then I'll always wave back. For me I always give the 2 finger wave as a respect thing to all bikers no matter what you ride,and I would say 98% wave back,we are in a class of society all our own. A 2wheel brotherhood you might say, If I were to see a biker stranded I will stop and help if I can, Been riding most of my 46 year life and aint stoping now. enjoying the view 2 wheels at a time Peace and ride safe |
