I need help deciding on 2 Kawasaki Cruisers? |
I have been riding crotch rockets for 15 years now & I'm gonna finally get off them & get on a cruiser but I need some help deciding. The two I'm looking at are the Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Meanstreak & the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. I like them both. Speed & power are not really a factor, I'm looking for comfort & style. http://www.kawasaki.com/products/detail.... http://www.kawasaki.com/products/detail.... I have tested them both and they both feel great, that's why I need help deciding. Or should I get the bike my wife want's me to get? http://www.suzukicycles.com/products/m10... Heres is the deal, They are not even close to the same bike. I am not a fan of 21 inch front wheels, handling suffers and coming from sportbikes you would hate it. The Meanie is a great bike, handles the best of any bike of its type and has plenty of torque and plenty of add ons for more. I would not forego a look at what I own, a Vulcan 2000, the ultimate in V-twin performance. The 1600 classic has more comfort and better ergos than a meanie for about the same price. As for the M109R.....it ain't nothin, it handles like a slug, too much lash in the driveline, and typical high speed Suzuki wobble, and my V2K will whip it! Ask this same question on the delphi vulcan forum, you will find it to be the source for all things vulcan, Braz i'd go with the 900 custom cause it is cheaper and looks a little better than the 1600 the m109 is the heaviest bike out of the 3. can u handle the weight after being used to rockets? if u plan on riding 2 up, it would be adviseable to get a sissy bar at the very least. i'd go with the 1600 vulcan. I was in the very same situation last year. Actually, I had never been on a cruiser. I also thought about the Vulcan 1600 MS, but I bought a Vulcan 900 Classic and I love it. If you are looking to keep it mild, this is a perfect choice. Of course, meaning the Custom in your case. The bike has a lot of torque when you need it and did well on the highway this past March when I went to Daytona's bike week. --- I must add one more point in contradiction. If the M109R is doing it for your wife, take it for what it's worth. Be safe out there. DG If it's your bike and you're doing the riding, get the bike you want. If you're looking for comfort and a cruiser style, you may want to check out a Harley. I've owned various Jap bikes in the past. I now ride a Harley and it's the best bike I've ever owned. The style, comfort, engine sound, etc. all combine for a fantastic ride. That 1600 looks tuff man. Me personally I would get that one. But then again I am a Bad Mo Fo.. If it's comfort your interested in, it would be hard to beat the Nomad. |
