Is the Suzuki SV650S a good motorcycle? Any owners? Thinking of getting one.?

I have some cruiser experience and two years of dirtbike experience so I'm good there, I'm not really experienced which is why I'm curious about this bike, otherwise I would be looking at a CBR600RR. Anyways are there any happy owners of the SV650S out there?

You will LOVE an SV650! It's not as fast as a pure sportbike, but very close. They handle quick and are very easy to ride, as well as being a lot of fun. My ONLY beef was with the forks; they are a cheap damper rod design, and all you get is preload adjustment. It would be a good investment to have someone put some cartridge emulators in the forks for a few hundred $$. Your front end will actually feel planted and stable afterwards.

The SV is such a great little bike that ther is a race series dedicated to them as well as a HUGE aftermarket parts selection. They have reached cult status already, and I think you'll be very happy with one.

If you're buying used, the 2003-on models have fuel injection and get better mileage.
The SV650s is a very well rounded motorcycle. All day comfortable and fairly sporty. I don't own one myself but three of my friends own them and they love them. They are also rated very high by motorcycle magazine editors.

GREAT BIKE... you may want to look at the Hyosung GT 650S as well

You will certainly enjoy the bike. I have tracked a 650 for two yrs now and rode several while working at large dealership. The twin power plant really rides well on the sport chassis. Plus there are huge amounts of mods out there for the Suzuk. The torque'y personalty of the twin makes it bold in a bold ride in traffic and country hills, plus it'll jump out of the corners for ya. The CBR you mentioned is a in-line 4 cylinder known for high-reving top-end. I owned one for a few yrs. I also loved it. You really should go to dealership and sit them in the show room. Decide which fits y our riding personality.
From what i heard they are nice bikes. I personally like superbikes but i hears the SV is good both in performance and for touring. They always rank high in magazine and consumer ratings. I think that if you wanna good all around bike then it's a good choice. The RR on the other hand is a race bike. if you are looking to drag knees in corners and go 150mph then don't expect the SV to accomplish it.
