Are sportbikes hard on your neck? |
I've been riding cruisers for a few years & I really want a sportbike..probably a ZX-6// but I have a bad neck. On sportbikes do you have to crook your neck like if you were on a 10 speed bike? if they land on you, wrists and hands give me more of a problem them my neck Yes, plus arch your back. Ride one before you buy one...you'll probably change your mind after the first 15 minutes or so. i don't think so. i think with sports bikes it's all about the back. NO - they are more comfy than a cruiser. I had been on cruisers all my life and I will never go back. I have a bad neck inflimation of my lower back from previous crap. And I ride for 2-6 hours as often as possible 2006 Suzuki GSX-R 1300 Busa Limited Edition Try this at home : http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=... Sportbikes are not uncomfortable to ride, I sit in a more unnatural position on a cruiser, the best person to ask about riding and your neck injury would be your Doctor The only problem I ever had was legs, But I have a pair of bum knees. Neck not so much. Mostly knees and lower lumbar. Small of your back. If you ever see a group after a ride The harley cruiser type are stretching thier arms and walking weird, some are twisting Crotch rocket every time they stop seem to need to stretch thier lower back. Best bike to avoid these things, old man cruiser with cup holder great seat and stereo. If you really want to be on a sports bike talk to your doctor about wearing a neck brace(like the ones racers wear) They are more for preventing injury but it might help. |
