Is riding a beach cruiser decent exercise? |
I really want to buy a bike but I haven't ridden one in God knows how many years. I have never ridden a bike with gear shifters or hand brakes so I really want to buy something I feel comfortable on so I decided to possibly get a beach cruiser. Do you think riding a cruiser will be good exercise? You actually get more anaerobic exercise because you don't have any easy low-gears to shift down into. It can be better exercize - if you exert yourself. But Beach Cruisers are often ridden slowly - and casually - which becomes less of a work out. But if you push hard on a beach cruiser - you can get a great workout. Report It A hybrid bike would be a better option. It's somewhat like a cruiser in it's handlebars and such, but it has gears and hand brakes. The gears are usually thumb contoled so it's easy. |
