Kawasaki klr 650 2008 for a begginner?? |
Im 6'1 290 31 inch leg. Anyone ride this bike or similar years? I'm thinking lightweight big gas tank 650cc enough power right??? Is this bike going to fit me and is it going to keep me happy for more than a year. the 08 is only like 5500 bucks for a brand new bike thats not much harley's even for a 10 year old is going to cost close to 4k I am 6'2"and I weigh about 250 pounds. I have had my xr650r for a couple of years now and have enjoyed it immensely. It's a bit lighter than the Kawasaki is and produces a bit more power especially once it has been re-jetted and unrestricted. When I was looking to buy the bike I had thought about the Kawasaki but it seemed a little bit heavy and less usable off-road. In retrospect, since 90 percent of my riding is on road the Kawasaki would not have been a bad choice. It's interesting to notice that the U.S. military had been looking at a diesel engine version of the klr650. That would be quite a tank. I could see where you wouldn't want a sport bike, however, I would consider the KLR 650 to ultimately be a dual sport cruiser. I don't think power will be a problem with a 650 especially since you're not going to be using this thing as a quarter-mile drag bike. Buy something older and cheaper. Until you have a few thousand miles under your belt, don't go hi dollar. There are thousands of Harleys setting in front of houses that were big buck rides that are now 4 or 5 years old with 3500 miles on them from people who had to "get on board" with the Harley move and found out riding just wasn't for them. yes its suitable for you. I know a couple of people who own the KLR 650 and love it. They've got plenty of power and insurance is cheap. I'd say go for it, you could do allot worse. 650cc will be more then enough power. it will be a great bike and i think you will be more the happy with it - its a Kawasaki greatest bikes ever made. use your brain |
