Metric Harley etc ??? |
Why is it that Harley folks get so upset when we recommend a metric? I have riden bikes for over 30yrs{minbikes all the way up to big cruisers, Honda Harley yam etc...}. I have owned many types and helped build others back in the day of real "choppers". I don't have anything against Harley except that for the money spent there are better options out there. If someone is asking about buying a bike I think it is more helpfull if we can tell them about all options not just limit it to one type. Some times I really feel like bashing some of the Hardley owners{NOT THE BIKE} just because of their ego. Harley makes a decent brand bike but it is not ANY BETTER then some of the metrics. Also just because it says harley does not mean it is american....IT'S NOT !!! Robert P I agree some of the crotch rocket owners are a pain. AMF did a # on Harley back in the 70s. My question still stands why is it wrong to recommend a metric when asked About buying a cruiser? Resale well if your a dealer then I quess resale is important, but I'm a rider so I'd rather get more for my $$$$$. I ride a Harley dresser and a metric crotch rocket. I would try to answer your question, but i'm too busy kicking my own a**. There is absolutly nothing wrong with recommending a "metric" or (other brand) motorcycle. There's nothing wrong with recommending a metric if someone asks what kind of cruiser they should get. You're entitled to your opinion. It's when someone wants to compare, for example, a softail to a dyna, there are always a few that have to jump on the opportunity to bag on Harleys and claim their bike is superior. Whatever, this is a BS forum anyway. Why not have a little fun? That's what I do. This is for the "resale" and "investment" people. what isn't american about Harley?...they aren't owned by AMF anymore ...get you facts straight...and it's the sport bike people that bash the Harley guys... 1 more...why is it Harleys have the best resell value of any bike made? Most riders don't have the luxury (or common sense) of over spending for antiquated engineering. Don't everyone jump on the Harley owners for feeling their bikes are superior to everything else. Yesterday I was talking with a Gold Wing 1800 owner and he said in his opinion, there are many GW owners that are worse than Harley owners when it comes to having the superior attitude. And don't forget, that was a GW owner saying that. 20/20, please point fingers specifically at a person who is making these types of comments. I think you got that a little Bass Akwards There son Because with popularity and all the TV shows and pro wrestlers riding the things into the ring comes cultists and fan boys, true believers who have never even ridden on a motorcycle. Harley isn't a motorcycle it is a pop culture icon. And with that is naturally going to inspire a certian jealosouy, these people are members of Team Harley and they want to see thier team always on top. They aren't interested in motorcycles or facts about motorcycles, they are interested in the Harley as the #1 bike. Personally I don't care who likes what bike or if you like what I ride or not. I spend a lot of time on this site and I just do not see what you are talking about. All I see is metric folks bashing on Harley's not the other way around. I have seen Harley riders retaliate after their ride has been insulted but that's about it. I have no preference at all, I'm just telling you what I've seen on this site. I'm just glad the folks I ride with and hang out with aren't as narrow minded and hateful as many of the folks on this forum. The Harley guys are very touchy when it comes to defending why they overpaid for a 2 wheeled tractor. Go to hdforum.com and look at how bad their own dealers treat them. Its amazing. because harley owners have become brainwashed by propoganda... |
