Differences between crotch rocket and cruiser? |
ok i know how to ride cruiser bikes ive done it for a long time but i recently bought a cbr i took it for a spin and it is completly different for me i dont know what to do how do i become more comfortable with the stance leaning etc well the real difference between to two is that the crotch rocket has more mid and high end torque, meaning it has more power at higher rpms than the cruiser About 3 inches. Find a curvy road with no traffic. Ride up and back and keep increasing your speed each time. If you live in the city a big parking lot will do. Set yourself up a course that weaves in and out of the parking bumps for example. Just keep practicing. That is what the stunt riders do. They keep practicing until they know the bike and everything it can and cannot do. Just spend some time in the saddle to get used to the different riding position and the different feel of the new bike. The CBR's handling and feel will be like 2nd nature in no time. Ah, two completely different schools of thought. Most say you are a fan of either one or the other. Never both. Seems like the younger people like crotch rockets, but eventually out grow them and get cruisers. After 35 years of riding bikes I bought my first sport bike less than a year ago. I guess the aggressive riding position was a little weird at first, but very quickly I started feeling like the bike was an extension of my body. Just ride the thing and get some hours in the saddle. about 100 mph ! I ride an R6 I have never road a cruiser besides for endorsement test. My understanding is that you sacrifice comfort for handling/speed. You find a road with a couple of nice twisties practice your leaning... Either scare the piss out of you or you will love it to the point you want to just go all day. You will be surprised how the bike sticks to the road like glue. Be Safe but more importantly have fun! It takes a while to get used to how far forward you lean. You almost have to relearn your center of balance. All I can suggest is to take long ride to get used to it. Leaning into the curves is also very different, but once you get the hang of it, you will have a blast! I would suggest starting in a parking lot and play around with the turns so you can get used to it. The more comfortable you get, the faster you can go and the further youo can lean. Good Luck |
