Just bought a motorcycle without an MOT or V5. Need Help.?

I bought a 125cc 2003 cruiser a couple of months ago for when i passed my CBT test, ive now passed and want to MOT and insure it.

But my friend said that i probably cant MOT or insure it without a V5 or a previous MOT certificate.

is there any truth to this? i mean, the bike is registered with a licence plate and everything.

You need the V5 as proof of ownership and the person you bought it from should have sent this off to the DVLA in Swansea to change the ownership details. I would recommend contacting the person you bought it from and requesting the V5 documentation and or contacting the DVLA and requesting their advice.

I don't think you need the old MOT certificate but you will need to get the bike MOT'd in order to get a tax disc "road fund licence"
