What are your thoughts on Victory motorcycles vs Harleys?

Flamers and Japp crap losers need not reply, I don't care what you think of your import crap, american or european made cruisers/tourers are all that will ever reside in my driveway... period! I've tried japp and it was crap, not even 10% as good as my harley.

I currently ride a harley and think that victory bikes are a good looking alternative, similar to compare models and all, but I don't think a victory holds its value like a harley does. Anyone else owned/sold a victory that can say what they thought? It's probably also not as easy to find custom goodies for them either I suppose.

Test drove both brands in daytona victory are very cheeply built and plastic

I own Harleys but a few friends have Victories...hammers and such...it's true they don't hold their value although they cost as much as Harleys... after market stuff is available by Ness

Harley is better I think...

I think both are nice bikes and kinda expensive . I think Harley has a better assortment of bikes to choose from .

Victory is growing in popularity. And its no surprise.A dependable low-cost alternative to HD?I never thought the day would come. But its here. The custom parts are still coming. There is a limited amount now though.I have serviced only a few,and have seen little wrong with them.Bottom line.....if you cant afford a Harley, get a Victory.

I'd push a Victory before I'd ride a Harley...*kisses*

I ride in So Cal and have only seen maybe 5 Victorys over the last 5 years....rare out here...and we ride all the time. id rather keep my Road King than any other bike out here or anywhere for that matter.

No contest get your self a BM Gs and ride the ride brother.

ask that same question in thirty years. Ever heard of a 66 Victory? Just sold my 66 shovel for a newer 1980 shovel oops.
First and only rule about being a "biker"; THERE AIN'T NO STUPID RULES!
ride with pride whatever it is.(except vespas)(and goldwings)(and vulcans) Oh, never mind HARLEYS RULE! even if they do break down after fifteen years or so.

I prefer the Harley-Davidson line of motorcycles, as the factory-built Hogs look and ride as well as the customized versions in all classes. If you're gonna ride, ride with style on an 'iron horse' that has a long history and a good performance record. Harleys are the ride of choice for a broad spectrum of people, regardless of the riders economic-class status or purpose for riding for a reason!
(If you know a way to mount a 74 c.i. engine on a three-wheeled electric wheelchair/scooter frame, I'd be interested in hearing about it!)
Later Daze! =)

I'd get a Victory over a HD. Guy I worked with had one and swore by it. I rode it for awhile, very nice!!! But I like my Jap Crap, cheaper and have been very good to me.

Plus a chase truck is not required for a Victory... ha ha ok Flame over just had to say it.

I actually considered the Victory last year before I bought my Softail Deluxe. I just couldn't find anyone that owned a Victory to see what they thought of it. Also I have 4 HD dealers within an hour of me but no Victory dealers so that put me off. I think they make a beautiful motorcycle though. I had heard that they do not hold their value as well as you mentioned also.

I don't care much for the styling of Victory's. They all look like Honda vtx's to me. I hear that they are good bikes though.

I never rode a Victory, but will admit I wanted to try one.
The styling is not quite to my tastes, and there are not as many accessories. That's to be expected though. There just aren't as many around. They look heavy to me.
I do know a guy who loves his.

took one ride on a victory vegas and sold my dyna and bought it. the difference is amazing. more power, better brakes, better handling. those that say buy the HD for resale i ask, where are all these 30 year old bikes? i go to rallies all the time and i never see them. if you buy a bike for resale value why even ride it??

Harley wanna be.

Good choice if you can't afford the real thing
