Honda VT750 for P-plater?

G'day all,

I passed my NSW provisional riding test recently and wish to buy either a Honda VT750 Shadow or a Suzuki VL800 cruiser bike. According to the RTA website these bikes are not listed on their approved bikes for novices. It does however say Honda Shadow (no mention of which one). Is it therefore right to say that the Honda VT750 Shadow is an approved bike? Is the VT750 actually learner legal?

Otherwise the Yamaha XVS650 V-star is the one to choose. Anyone have any experience with the V-star with regards to performance, pulling power uphill, acceleration from standstill, as opposed to a 250 Yamaha Zeal for example?

Cheers.

Ron

Im not too keen on the VT or VL but love the XVS.
The XVS650 compared to the 250ZEAL ?
Like chalk and cheese. It has so much more power and the 0-60 is a lot quicker not to mention the top speed !
Its the one i would go for if i had just passed my prov test !

Your choice but enjoy whatever you buy !

The RTA lists an older version of the Shadow the VT600.
