What size motorcycle should i get? |
im 6 foot tall 350 lbs learning how to ride what size bike is ideal? im not a real big fan of harley's or choppers mainly rockets please help If you get a 1000, 1 of 3 things will happen, 1. Youll kill yourself. 2. You wont kill yourself but your body or the bike will be totaled. 3. You will take it so easy cause your scared of the bike that your skills wont get anywhere near the level they have the potential for. That being said I would go with a mid 90's 600cc bike due to your size, Im 6' and 225 pounds and my 95 ninja zx6r flys fast enough to the point that Im fairly scared of it being a new rider, and should probably be on smothing not so sporty, (ie a ex 500 or a zx6 minus the "r") but i got it for a steal so thats what I ended up with, if you get a bike like that with your added weight, it should do you real nice for a beginer bike, just watch out when you step into the upper rpm range, after 6000 rpms, sht gets blurry, seriously but I dunno if it will happen that drastically with you at 350 pounds which is why I said it would be a nice bike to start on now for a person that was 125 to 265 pounds, diffrent storie that would be really f-in fast and I wouldnt suggest it to a begginer that bike at riding around town speeds will get you to 80 so fast its not funny, and thats with my hefty self on it. SKINNY PEOPLE BEWARE!!!!!!! j/k Source(s): talk to the people here, http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/... its owned by a dealership so they will look out for your best intrest instead of tellin you to buy a 1000cc sportbike for your first(its not just for kawisaki owners but its mostly). I swear they should lock these people up for involentary manslaughter the first time someone dies after taking advise on here for tellin a ignorant to the fact person to do something like that. Anyway, real nice people, a few mechanics and more stories and safety tips than you know what to do with as a beginner, nice starting point. If you are looking fast the ninga is good but for a biggineryou should look for something around a 750-1000. I have a yamaha 650 v-twin but it is like a chopper!! if you're just learning than you should get low cc's but since you're pretty heavy then you need something that can handle that. i would say at least 600 cc's but since you're learning no more than 800. get either a suzuki GSXR 750 or a 1000, I would recommend a 750cuz its a big enough bike 4 u, just dont go with anything under a 600 for your size, don't get a haybusa though cuz its not really a bike that you want to learn on, I would suggest the ninja EX500 or the Suzuki SV650 At 350 lbs, you should be posting this same question in the Bicycling category! |
