Have you ever thought of making a twin rear wheel chopper bike before? |
you might be able to make the bike by haiving 2 rear swing arms on 1on either side of the bike and put the main rear chain cog in between the 2 rear wheels by only putting a single standand wheel on the front and 2 single standand wheels on the rearend of the bike. nouse the rear axle and engine from a vw beetle you will have to manufacture a drive shaft Been there. Done that. Mounted the engine between the rear swing arms to shift the weight to the back. Used a shaft drive engine and turned it around. Coupled it to a shortened rear axel from a toyota truck and put the drive sprokets on the end of the axels. I didn't go with the trike configuration though. I set the front suspension up like you'd see on a dune buggy. wouldn't that make it a Trike? They make those. U mean a trike with independent rear suspension, or one with both wheels pretty much next to each other? i remember a while ago someone did make a bike that had 4 wheels, 2 next to each other on the back and the same on the front, i don't know if it ever went into production, or if it was just a concept bike There's a guy who lives not to far from where I do who has a trike that would qualify. It seems to use a VW / dune buggy style rear suspension and quite possibly the VW engine too. I'm not all that interested in one myself - I might be if I lived further north where I would have to deal with snow more often than once a year. |
