Should i buy a mini chopper / pocket bike? |
i really want a motorcycle but i cant afford one now, or any time soon. do you think one of these mini choppers would be a fun subsitute for now? this is the one i am thinking of buying: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayis... thanks for your help! It's a very nice bike I would have to say yes if you like bikes and know how to operate them. no you would be better off riding a moped around just get a real bike If you do buy one, stay off the streets. These are EXTREMELY dangerous in traffic. A car simply cannot see you and I rarely see anyone on a pocket bike actually wearing a helmet or leathers. Your brakes are not that great and your motor is not very strong. It's too easy to get in an accident on one of these. You can find a mechanically sound used motorcycle for under $1000 if you look around--- I've bought bikes for as little as $500 in running order. Maybe they are not the prettiest bikes or the fastest but they run well and are a LOT safer than those pocket bikes. You may consider looking a little harder for a cheap used bike; you will be surprised what $500 can buy, if you do a lot of looking. You can get a good used motorcycle for the price of the lawn motor powered mini-bike. Nah, I wouldn't mess with pocket bikes. They're cute, but they're not that great. If ya wanna bike, buy a real bike, like a 650 or above. Get something that's got some power to it, and get out and ride. Cars are safer, but there's a minimum size on bikes as far as I'm concerned, below say a 600 I don't really like em, not enough power. I don't race, but when I'm on the on-ramp, and there's a TRUCK, I want the 'punch' to be there. Pocket bikes are more something for kids. Save up your coin and make a down payment on something decent... |
