Can you actullay put a lawn mower motor on to a chopper bike and make it work? |
is there a way or no? or can u only do it with a gocart? Yer! No problem. Harley Davidson bin doing it for YEARS!!!! (or did I get it wrong? Harleys have only bin good enough for lawn mower use for years?!!!) Source(s): GOD is a BIKER As long as it has enough power, and the size of both the motor and vehicle are taken into consideration, you can make any motor work on anything. If you mean like they did on American Chopper, yes. Those lawnmowers are industrial size with large and powerful motors compared to the little ones in a push mower or small riding mower. Life experience, and over 20 years spent wrenching on old cars and trucks. You could do it but it would be a bit of a task - safety means upgrading the brakes making sure the fuel system is secure and any parts are strong enough - and probably not road legal without a lot more work. Is it worth the expense / time Not really, it would be a pain in the butt since lawmower engines have a vertical crankshaft and you would need a horizontal one for both of those applications. Sure, we used to do it frequently back in the day. They were called mini-bikes. If you wanted to make a roadworthy home-built chopper, you would need to choose a motor with sufficient horsepower. |
