Any ideas Honda CB 750 dohc new coils new r/regulator wont tick over prop; no rattles?


bike is running chopper pots k;n filters has been built 3 years ago but not used because of this problem

The DOHC 750 and 900 motors are notorious for poor running if the stock induction setup has been changed.
Other common problems with these motors are u/s stator windings through corrosion, bad rotor brushes and reg/rec failure. This may cause the problems you describe as the ignition system requires a healthy 14 volts to function effectively.
A healthy system will show a slight discharge at idle speeds, so a worse for wear one will really struggle.
k&n filters dont help, once you change the airbox its not good. have you balanced the carbs? that'll help. and have you changed the jets to compensate for the k&n's. also check the float heights are right.
