I neeed to know what engine size is on my friends Harley? |
it is a finch custom 1972 shovelhead the only number's that i got from the girl who bought it 2039848h2,the engine is not oringnal .she gave me these #'s and said find out engine size so she can list it on e-bay.the #'s are off the engine, it is a chromed out chopper and she won't let anyboby ride it to the bike shop so they can check it out. like i said SHE.....please just answer my question with out the insultes ....thanks Agree that there's no real way to know. Is it truely a Shovelhead or is it an Ironhead Sporty ? (not saying you don't know your bikes, but given the time period - sportys were popular customs) IF it is an Ironhead instead of a Shovelhead, then it'd be a 1000cc(stock) Here's another possibility - If the # was 2C39848H2 (instead of 2039848H2) then THAT would translate into a 1972 FX 1200. If it was 2G39848H2 (instead of 2039848H2) then THAT would translate into a 1972 Sportster XLT. IF it IS an XLT - those are RARE !!!!!!!! Make sure of # before you do anything. If you have any other questions drop me an email Hope this helps Source(s): scampbell662000@yahoo.com there is no way of knowing because its a custom, you would have to pull the top end off the bike and measure the bore and stroke to figure out the cubic inch displacement. she should ask whoever she got it from.by the way that is not a harley vin number, must be a special construction title.which means it is NOT considerd to be a Harley, its an aftermarket custom.it probably has s&s cases or delkron which would explain the wierd numbers.harley numbers will have a lazy 8 and letters in the vin. 1340 |
