I'm sure you guys heard that Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and Dale Jr. all got to design their own chopper with OCC. Yeah, I like those guys..(well not so much Tony) but really, do they need a free chopper? With all the money they have...geez. Where's my chopper? I guess that is just one of the benefits of being a racecar driver..^_^ If you guys know where any pictures are of the drivers and their bikes please tell me..Thanks.. First, those bikes are being auctioned off for charity. I do think all of them have more than enough money to buy whatever chopper/boat/yacht/helicopter they want. However, I thought I saw an interview with Dale Jr a few years ago where he said that the car manufacturers (ie Chevy, ford, dodge, toyota) will contact the drivers and basically loan them whatever models of the cars they make in whatever colors they want etc. So, I thought Jr said he currently had a couple cars from GM. It is embarrasing for the manufacturer or the sponsor to have their drivers being seen driving other cars or using competitor's products. I would bet that Home Depot lets Smoke have whatever stuff he wants at their store for his own use. Probably more for OCC publicity than for the drivers to have them. I think Carl Edwards got to make one too, and they get free cars from their manufacturers already so I dont know. I mean Chevy people probably get new corvettes every year, and for instance Jeff Gordon will drive his corvette and then once he gets his new one he auctions off his old one, and sells tickets on line for $100, and their is 3600 tickets sold, and the winner gets to keep that corvette and all the money that was raised goes to a charity. I think thats sweet. All the drivers get free stuff from their sponsors, like Dodge drivers get dodge chargers probably, and Chevy, corvettes, Fords, mustangs, and or whatever car they choose and probably with whatever features and accessories they want. Unless I am mistaken the OCC bikes are going to be auctioned off and the proceeds go to charity. I don't think the drivers get to keep the bikes unless they win the bid. As far as pics I don't know. I did see them last weekend on speed. Cool bikes but nothing special like you would see them build on the show. Maybe look on OCC web site. Those are going to be auctioned, But Nascar drivers get free cars and stuff.. and get payed well for 1 race.. bikes are auctioned but its for charity so good on them for that...try the occ web site for pics maybe First off, nobody said life was fair. Second, they have all worked hard to get where they are at in their racing careers. As a successful driver in NASCAR you will get a lot of perks along the way. They have an extremely demanding schedule and also do a lot of great work for tons of different charities. I'm not quite sure why you can't just be happy for them instead of jealous and spiteful. |
