BMX Riders- best bike? |
My son is 8 years old. He has a mongoose trick bike that we took the pegs ect off and has been racing with that. I looked up the specs and it weighs 37.5lbs. Most bikes built for BMX racing are 27.5lbs or lighter. Will the lighter bike give a competitive edge? I Raced BMX From Age 5-17... I Road A "Redline" When I Was Your Sons Age I Was Also Sponsored By "ANSWER" By Age 9 And Was 2nd Place In My Age Group/Region (TX) You Want A Lightweight Bike With Skinny Tires You DONT A Freestyle Trick Bike If Hes Gona Be Raceing!!!! Especially Not A "Mongoose" (There Too Heavy) I Suggest A "Redline" Go To Your Local Track And See What Other Kids His Age Are Rideing.. Have Fun!!!!
