When buying a BMX bike, what should I look for as the material used for building the frame/metal parts, etc.? 4130 Chromoly or OX Platinum Chromoly Frame. Alloy hubs, rims. Magnessium Pedals. Chromoly Handlebars. If you're serious about BMX don't go to a department store to buy a bike ask your local bike shop if they have someone on staff who rides BMX and they can tell you what is the best for riding. Source(s): I ride you better stick to walking--- most importantly, the frame of the bike. you need a lightweight and durable frame. well the best material for a frame would be like full chromoly and for the parts mostly chromoly if u have more money you could buy magnesium parts or some titanium parts. But if u don't have a lot of money aluminum works well. go to danscomp.com they will have all the parts you need to buy. i like flybikes the best for everything |
