When you order a bmx bike off the net, does it come together or do you gotta put the pieces together? If its properly packed for shipping the seat post bars pedals and front wheel will be off the bike you will need a pedal wrench a 15mm open end wrench for the front wheel a 5 or 6 mm allen key for the seat post and stem...make sure you have the bike checked over at a shop before you ride it most are adjusted at the factory but i can tell you from experience that not all of them run well right out of the box. yeah.... You will have to put some of it together but a lot will be done for you. it depends on who the shipping company is. I would ask the seller of the bike when i ordered my bike, it all came in a big box. but putting it together is not that difficult. its mainly attaching handlebars, wheels, pedals, etc. easy stuff. even if it is "put together" you still want to have someone go over the bike for you. if is is a single piece crank set, alot of times the bearings come from the factory backwards and the cranks are loose. also, if the bike has a gyro kit, those take time adjusting so that they're "just right". the brake pads will need to be adjusted once the tires are fully inflated, and the rims will need to be spot trued. take it to a bike shop and ask them to do a bmx tune up on it... shouldn't cost more than $40. good luck! If you order a complete bike from the net or catalog it will come together mostly. You will have to put the bars,front wheel,pedals on. Then you will have to adjust the brakes and stretch the cable and adjust everything because some of the parts may not be tight or need adjustment to fit you properly. You can take it to a bike shop and have them do this but they will charge you about 50 bucks. I suggest going to the shop and getting a bike from them or have them order what you want. |
