Can you put v brakes on a bmx bike with u brakes? No. Not unless your frame and fork have the mounts for the V-brake arms. nope...no tabs for brake arms and levers are incompatible with v brakes (will not pull cable enough for proper braking) Actually, it is possible if there is enough space to mount them. The big thing is that U brakes usually mount in a very tight area and won't allow V brakes in the same space. Setting the new brakes up can be a bit tricky too... nothing for a backyard mechanic (no offense). 27 years in the industry Yes, it is completly possible, and very simple.
