I Am thinking o.f buying a BMX bike . . .? |
Are the tyres 'softer' , less dureable . . . and will it be good for cycling , lets say five miles on the trott ,..............,............ sounds to me like you just want an inexpensive bike that will get you from point A to point B. im going to have to say that a BMX bike probably won't suit your purpis unless, where you want to go are trails or a place to ride. if a bmx bike is all you have for transportation i would raise the seat to a comfortable pedaling hight and angle the bars slightly tipped tords you, so its comfortable to peddle siting down. i'm fairly sure that most bmx riders only care about traction and not getting pinch flats. if it means anything to you ive been riding the same primo comit tires for the past 2 years and they still look and feel like new. i have a bmx bike and its cool i guess the tyres are softer i like it Bmx bikes are fine for short rides. Five miles? The wheels are too small, you'll be knackered. The tyres aren't usually softer but harder, being designed for street use. Like most bikes you can buy different tyres with different compounds. You don't want the tyres to be too soft, or you'll have too much friction and hang up just when you don't want to. As for 5 mile rides, it'll be hard work. The small wheels give great acceleration but low top speed, and the smallness of the bike will give you cramps all over on that distance, especially if you decide to sit down you'll do your knees in. what? JEEZ Who the F### asks a dumb question like that? Just buy it, its a Bike for fucks sake. the tyres on a bmx usually have less tread so they are no good for an off road ride, plus ther are no gears on a bmx bike so hills are a bit of a problem. but if you do want one i would recomend a gt from chainreactioncycles.com |
