What is the best gearing for a bmx bike to go super fast? |
just the chain ring Are you looking for top end or low end. You can't have both unless you have more than the 2 sprockets. Also, the crank arm length will play a major role in your performance. Give us a little more info and we can give you a better answer. Good Luck. Source(s): Retired Racer/Coach 5 the bigger the chain ring, the faster you can go what the 2nd dude said cuz a big sprocket makes yer bike go faster a small 1 gives u acceleration fer mt bmx nike i gota diamondback and it has average speed and accel i think its a 44 tooth well, it depends on the front AND back sprocket. If you take the # of teeth on the front sprocket and multiply it by your wheel size (probably 20") and divide it by the # of teeth on the back sprocket, you get your how many inches your bike goes in one pedal. around 54-56 inches is normal, and i do not recomend going too far from that ratio. more inches is faster, less is acceleration. maybe something with a 62 ish gear ratio would be good the ride bmx buyers guide, which has walkthroughs and explanations like this |
