What are some good things to take off a bmx bike to shave weight? |
what are teh heaviest things. i will buy all the aftermarket parts that make it lighter Some things you might want to buy to shave weight are rims, fork, take normal pipe/bar cutters and cut the bars down to comfortable length, cut the seat post, cut the axles to only what you need, and buy some small nuts for your bikes. There are other things you could do like buy a new frame or completely rebuild a bike but I'm not sure on your spending limit. well one cheap way is to get a new sprocket and freewheel. the lightest and most used combo is 25 and 9. the ratio is the same as most stock bikes. another thing is pegs. the odyssey jpeg lighter pegs are great important one is the frame Dont be a weight weenie, keep it under 32 pds and you'll be alright new cranks and fork weld the seat on to the frame, rims cut the bars |
