Is it possible to turn a '20 multi-speed brakeless bke into a regular BMX bike? |
Thanks for answering! You can but you are going to have alot of problems with chain alignment and tensioning. To get it to line up properly having a single gear (which you will have to buy the chainwheel and cranks for) you will have to figure out which back gear is going to work with the front gear ratio wise. Most bikes are 44-16 Then hope they line up. If they dont then you will have to buy a new back wheel and hope that will help it line up properly. You will also likley have to change the stem on the bike so that the handlebars will sit properly with the front of the bike. Though it being a small mountain bike the geometry is probobly much different from a regular bmx bike and it is going to steer and ride funny. So if you want to go that route go ahead. Your best bet is just just buy a bmx bike I think you would be happier in the long run. it isnt worth it, cheaper to just buy a bmx bike yes.you can melt it and make it again Yes if you'r whilling to pay alot of money buying one of them really good bmx bikes is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper. |
