BMX Questions! What is better? |
I'm wanting to get a new bmx bike for street/park riding. I'm looking at GT, MIRRA CO, & HARO. What is a better brand? What is a good model? What is an average weight? What is an ideal weight? Spokes or mags? Heavy or Light when it comes to street/park? I'm looking to spend about $400-$500 for now. Is it better to spend more now and build off of that bike or what? I'm wanting either the GT COMP or PERFORMER, MIRRA CO RETRO, HARO FORUM. The retro has mags, will they warp or do they have a limit on weight? This is just my personal preference but it has a base. Stolen Bikes, if your willing to spend $400-$500, is a very wise decision and one of the best brands today. If you get one of their models like "The Heater", you will pretty much be set for almost forever unless something breaks such as the chain or a bent rim. Definitely spokes because bends can be trued out. Lighter is much better although there is a lot of momentum involved, the lighter the bike the easier it is to whip it around! But if i had the money right now, The Stolen Heater would definitely be under my feet. You can get a price range for the Heater or other Stolen Bikes on www.danscomp.com. And keep in mind.. these bikes aren't really stolen, ha ha. Happy Riding! none of those bikes are the "best"......but good bikes are Fit bikes, we the people bikes, and others...a lighter bike is ALWAYS better than a heavier one....if you go to dans comp they sell most bike brands and their prices are good.....and i would go with spokes...and it might be better + cheaper to build a bike from different parts made by different brands ! personal preference when it comes to a name...once you get into high end it will last forever but wieght means nothing because bmx is all about momentum but never go with mags...they are ugly and if it gets bent you need a new one....with spokes you can true it out a little bit |
