BMX chain PLZ HELP me? |
ok i really need help i cant get hte chain of my 20 inch bmx bike can some one tell me how i know it has something to do with some kinda link plz help if ur answer works i will make sure u get 10 points PLZ HELP ASAP Many bikes have a "master link". This allows the chain to be removed without a chain tool. To find it, first clean the chain. Then look closely at each link until you see one that looks different. To remove the link, just "bend" the master link one way or the other until it pops apart. Sometimes there are little clips on the link. These can be removed with a small screwdriver. Once you take off the master link, you will probably need a new one if anything gets bent too badly. Source(s): 27 years in the industry for a bike chain, you need a chain tool. it has a pin that you place over one of the links of the chain and you twist it to get the pin off the link. if you don't have a chain tool, i recommend using a countersink or something pointy to place over the pin on the chainlink and a hammer. wear safety glasses! but i suggest you get a chain tool for about 10 bucks at your bike store. if not, bike shops should take the chain off for you free of charge. i ride you need a chain breaker you can get it at a local bike shop is a tool the pushes the pins loose that hold the links of your chain together you need a chain tool. they can be from 5-20-50 dollars, i got the 20$ one it works great. and it has a lifetime warranty. |
