Which can you go faster on a 36/13 gear ratio or a 39/14 for a bmx bike |
i am buying a bike and i want to which is easyer to get up more speed on Those ratios (36/13->2.77 vs 39/14->2.785) are very close; you probably will not be able to tell a difference. Theoretically it will be easier to accelerate up to speed with the 36/13 ratio, although your max speed may be higher with the 39/14. Again though for such a close comparison it doesn't matter. You could easily change rear tire size (or less easily, length of your crank arms) to negate this sort of gear ratio difference. the 39/14 will require fewer crank revs per wheel rev. you'll also be less likely to spin out with that ratio.. |
