Can I convert a back pedal brake to a regular bike wheel? |
I have a bmx mongoose bike and the handbrakes broke. The brake pads are basically "glued" to the tire on the back. I tried to fix it but couldn't get anything to work so I took the back brake pads off. I was wondering besides paying for a new brake system could I move the back pedal brake part from a new wheel I just got to my other back wheel on my bike? The back pedal wheel does not fit on my bike so is there a simple way with tools that I can switch it? Thanks. trust me just get a new brake system its ver complicated to do what you saying and if your talking about pedal brakes they are kinda useless ever though they dont really brake just go to a bike store and to a sporting goods store and ask for new brakes or cables its most likly the cables and even a whole new brake system it wont cost over probably 50$ for a good one for a mongoose well depends on where you go You removed your rear brake because it was out of adjustment? Don't get a new wheel, put the brake back on and adjust it so it works properly! |

Any BMX bike is going to be heavy because they are built to withstand punishment beyond the normal ride around the block. You should just work out and build muscle until you can bunnyhop/camelhop y... DK bikes are a very good, well known brand of bike. It all depends on what model and type you have and weather you like it. it also depends on weather you ride dirt (sand, gravel, dirt, off-road) ... i think purple would look better than orange. or maybe brown. idk maybe u can get some nice stickers on there too ...... Tony Hawk bikes are NOT good. ...motocross= involves dirt bikes, which have engines, cost a lot more. bmx= involves pedal bikes, no engine, significantly less than a dirt bike. ...Wal-Mart doesn't sell anything high-end. If your bike came from there, it is a low-end piece of crap. Sorry -- go to a local bike shop, or talk to some of your fellow "almost pros", ... |
