Shogun BMX bike, raising handlebars? |
I recently got this bike, (not the exact one in the picture), and the handlebars are too low for my long legs, I'm not sure how I raise the handle bars up, do I twist the large nut, or bolt whatever it is, or the four bolts you can't really see in the picture, you can see two of them... The bike has a threadless steerer stem. The handlebars cannot be raised. I would purchase a taller handle bar before I would sacrifice the strength to a raised stem. You can raise it a bit but disregard the max limit as this is a bmx and it really doesn't apply in my opinion.Especially if you bike has that stem. |

oooo you trying to get a bike man? Well i live in the BX so i only know one place in Dyckman st. The Fit bikes there are hot. ...You have a loose headset. Your stem should have two bolts on the side and one on the top. Loosen the two side bolts. Tighten the top bolt until the play is gone. Make sure that your bar is aligned ... Keep in mind that cromoly (chrome molybdneum) is steel, and like anything, there is cheap cromoly and good cromoly. The bike you are looking at is the cheap stuff. Also, remember that hi tensile st... if you have a 1 piece i think you can still change the sprocket but getting a bolt thing loose on the inside of the crank will be the hardest part, if you take off the pedal then undo all the bits ... Best place, take the 401 to Brock (just after Whites Road), south on Brock to just SOUTH of Bailey. Bike shop there has very fair prices, and incredible selection. I think its called Bailey Cycle.... it's entirely possible, but it would pretty tiring for 7.5 miles. And depending on how your bike fits you, yu might find your legs not extending nearly enough to get the maximum power transf... check out redline bikes and if u can get a catalog in the catalog they have the bikes with all the specs and an approx. height chart saying somthing like "5'10+" or "below 5... look on ebay youll find one or save up and buy from danscomp.com ... |
