I would like to bike to work, can I use a Haro BMX bike to go 7.5 miles? |
I am just wondering if I would be tired if I used a Haro F1. What model would be best. I have never used a BMX before. I am just wondering what it would be like. I don't want to drive to work anymore. I have never had a BMX bike, but I would think it would be more fun to use as a commuter bike. it's entirely possible, but it would pretty tiring for 7.5 miles. And depending on how your bike fits you, yu might find your legs not extending nearly enough to get the maximum power transfer. All BMX bikes also have wheels with a tiny circumference. This translates to more pedaling and more work for less distance travelled per revolution of the wheel. Your better off with any bike with a larger wheel circumference. If you are in the neighborhood to buy a bike specifically for commuting, a BMX bike is NOT the best choice. Go to any major bike manufacturers website and take a look at the commuter bike section; not a single BMX among them. BMX bikes are made for doing tricks, not miles, so spend wisely and invest in the right kind of equipment to do the job. It's easily POSSIBLE but if you want an easy ride get either a moutain bike or road bike. But a bmx would be fine if there arent to my up hill parts i once rode my haro 9.1 Miles to my friends house but that was once and i was pretty tired after i rode home too I ride long distances frequently on my BMX bikes. But if I was using it to only commute, I'd get a bike with gears. Is this a serious question? |
