Homework help, math, equation writing, algebra.?

Here is the problem - Students were planning a bike tour and estimated the following expenses and incomes- $30 for each bike rental, $125 for cost of food and camp for each biker, $700 van rental, $350 of income for each biker. PROFIT= I-E. (income - expense ) expense=12n+150. Income=$4.25n+250. So you would have to combine those to get the profit equation, (income-expense) my question is - it says " suppose the profit it $1055. How many bikers went on the trip? " How do i solve this and show my work too?

1055 = 350x - (30x + 125x + 700)
This much should make sense. I just translated what you wrote into a math equation. x is the number of bikers that went on the trip.

1055 = 350x - 30x - 125x - 700

You should be able to handle the rest. Just solve for x.

11 bikers
each biker paid the same and you + the food and you divid the van rental

x = 9.

nine bikers went on the trip.
