Big cycling tour through europe? |
Was thinking of going on a big cycling tour through europe in January. Any advice? What sort of bike should I get? We were thinking of covering 2000-4000kms on wheels, and the rest on trains. Great idea! It may be a bit cold in January though... Taking a bike on the trains is not hard except during rush hours with the crowds. It will be cold wet miserable. The B&b's and Hotels won't like your wet bike and gear. Some of the tourist places will be closed or shorter hours. The days are shorter so you ride less. You may want to look into just renting a bike on the few good days from the local train station or bike stores. I'd do alot more research at the library and the web before next Jan. |
