What's the bike lance armstrong used?? |
I guess there are many, so i'll settle for what bike was his preferred one before retiring or the one he used the last time he won the tour de france. thanks lol, thanks carl, but whats the model -if theres any The TTX was his time trial bike. He actually rode a Madone 5.9 SSLX. Trek may have designed the bike for him but the did sell them in limited numbers at select bike shops in 2006 for $10,000. Periodically, you'll see them on e-bay. Regardless, you were getting the same bike just as Trek promised. His may have been built just for him but you can have yours fitted for you-which is pretty similar. As mentioned by the first post, you can get a 2007 or 2008 SSL- which is pretty much the same frame Lance rode back then. "Settle for" ? LOL ! Sorry. but you're talking about a $10,000 Trek that was fitted just for him ! You can't buy these bikes off the shelf , so to speak. The bikes that are used in Le Tour de France are the best that money can buy. Trek TTX True what this dude said above me is true, although you can get the same frame and fork AND everything else but it will cost a pretty penny. $10,000 is right! the red baron said that it isnt the crate but the man flying it. ultimately, i think he could have won on any brand. trek just happened to be the one sponsoring the team he rode for. within a given range, one bike name or another isnt what wins or loses for a rider. because of the exposure Trek had through him, when you buy a Trek, you are in part paying for the name, and if you shop you can usually get more bang for the buck with a lesser known name. 1999: Trek 5200 just because Lance Armstrong was sponsored by Trek, and therefore rode them in the TDF does not mean that they were his "preferred" bikes. |
