How to be a motor sport driver.? |
iv`e no money to invest in this career. motorsport I would like to compete in is, rallying, track raceing like british touring cars, but iam not interested in formular 1, 2 or 3. or motor bike raceing. First port of call should the website of the Motorsports Association, which tells you everything you need to know: http://www.msauk.org/ I think karting is the first step in motorsport, I race karts in England, where abouts are you from? Lots of people want to do this. So sponsors/owners can choose from a talented group of drivers that have competed successfully at lower levels with their own money. Why would they look at people with no experience? I know that's harsh, but it's reality. Someone has spent too much time in front of a Playstation I think. Sorry fella but it takes money to get started. Karting is probably the best place to start but you still need a racing kart, something to take you and your kart all over the UK for the races and there will be fees on top of that. Expect every bit of spare time you had to disappear as you put the hours in to gain experience. You could get sponsorship if you were good from the start but it's trying to convince someone that you are worth spending thousands on per year thats the hard part. A family business would be a good thing to get you started but barring that expect it to be hard, if not impossible. Every race at every circuit has people wanting to make it to the top, probably less than 1% of them actually do. ive looked into it myself. it really does need some money, the licence, the traininig, an the entry fees for races not to mention the cost of maintaining and tuning a racing car. go for one of those days at brands hatch or silverstone where you get to drive a ferrari around, its about 拢200 and a great day out. Unless you have a lot of money or someone willing to pay the bills, for you, starting a career in motorsports is a bit like trying to push a piece of string uphill with your nose; it's not going to happen. Grab the controls, sit back and be satisfied with your playstation or other computer games. You are probably one of millions of kids around the world dreaming of becoming a racing driver. I don't know if you got the idea from the playstation or not but to initially get into it you'll have to invest. Maybe you could start with navigating for someone, atleast that's how I got into the arena. I bought my first rally car in 2005 but haven't rallied with it yet, left my brother to do that as I am very much involved with the organising in my town. If you are in UK there are some small events you can start of with. |
