What is the best touring bike for two older people?

Thinking of getting a touring bike for long distance rides, have had a honda kawasaki and harley but am thinking of getting a touring bike for my girfreind and i and was wondering which is the most comfotable for the money

A tandem
my husband says a pan european
i have a bike i bought 5 years ago for $120, its a mountain bike, comfortable as hell thanx to my cushion seat. Price really does not matter ..im not getting why people think price is all that important, sure shock resistance or whatever, but give me a break, i rode my bike on trails, mountains, thru rock, and just down our street every week and its still going strong. So, id say, just a cheap nice lookin one and save your money. My bike was cheap and does the same as the $1000 ones, now tell me why?
not a Harley! they'd beat yeah to death! look in the Honda web sight or Yamaha or BMW ! also maybe look at the seats on the bikes they do have a gel seat that you might want to get along with the bike that you choose for just that added comfort!
I like BMW K1200 LT. they are very comfortable. It handle like dream. Reliable. If you actually look around, you will find it's not that much expensive than other blends. It's not loud like Harley either. Your girl friend will enjoy back seat(Not a saddle) which is roomy size and very comfy. It's not heavy as Gold wing, but it's 100 some horsepower is more than good for touring.
Hitting mountain road is just dream with this machine.
Good luck. I might meet you one day on the bike-week
I personally am partial to the Harley Road King, These are nice rides and very comfortable. You may have to find "extras" to set it up the way you prefer but I think you would be happy with the end result.

A friend of mine rides a Goldwing and swears by it. It has all the comforts of a Cadillac. His wife crochets on it as they are traveling and she has been known to fall asleep on it, no fear tho it has wrap around arm rests that support her.

My best suggestion would be go sit a few different ones. There is no perfect bike for every person. You need to find one that fits you and what you plan on doing with it.
Just an old biker
