What is the best, reasonably priced touring bike I can get? |
I've got a hyrid bike but I'd like to go faster, this is for commutes to work and some distance travel. The best deal on a nice bike right now is from Tommaso through http://rscycle.com . The nice thing about RS Cycles is that they have free shipping and a 30 day return policy. The Tommaso Capri is an excellent value at under $400.00, or if you want something a bit better, their Monza is pretty much a state of the art bike at just under $650.00. Both of these bikes have triple chainrings. These are closeout prices so am unsure how long these prices will hold. The Capri has a list price of almost $900 and the Monza lists for $1299 so these prices are reeeallllly good. Tommaso was originally built in Italy, but now only their top end bikes (think $5000+) are Italian. The brand is owned by World Wide Cycle Supply who also owns Iron Horse, Columbia, K2, and also build bikes for some other companies. For the record I usually don't recommend that people buy bikes online, but these bikes and prices are hard to pass up. Source(s): 27 years in the industry |
