How do I approach companies to get sponsorship for a non-profit agency's bike tour?
During business hours, stop in at your local Chamber of Commerce office, and ask if they have someone who helps with fundraisers. Many do. Also, the Chamber could put you in touch with likely donors from the community, who are active, community-minded business people.
There's lots of free how-to info on the web.
Also, make sure every bike club and bike shop and running club and running shop in the area knows about it for their calendars. They may also want to sponsor, and could help you meet other sponsors.
