If i buy a honda motorbike and ride it to mexico? |
what should i do if i experience mechanical troubles. if i buy the bike new will i be able to get it fixed sout of the border if i find a dealership. also what type of honda should i buy i don't like the touring bikes but i wnat to travel long distances Find a low mileage Valkyrie or Valkyrie Interstate. Cruiser style with the dependability of a flat six, water cooled engine. 148 K miles on mine without a lick of trouble. lol. this one made me giggle. why would you ride to mexico? on a motorbike? why not to cali in a porche. lol. but your silly. and... Bring extra tools is my guess. lol Buy a Honda VTX 1800, I have over 6k miles on mine with ZERO maintenance problems. You can also put a small tool bag together with all you will need to work on the bike and take care of most problems yourself. Not sure why you anticipate problems with you scoot, but oh well. I woudl opt for an enduro motorcycle as they are built for the long distances, also different riding conditions. Most of these bikes are fairly simple carborated eingines. So I woudl say purchase all the wareble parts, .. ie, chains, sprockates, filters etc. so if you dont' have access to them in mexico. yes, you can take it to mexico, not sure why but you can. if you get it new its under warranty, just call Honda help line and they will tell you where to go for repairs. since you don't like the goldwing, you should look at the st1300. its sporty, fast with 2 hard bags and a 7 gallon gas tank. Your already jinxing the ride ,don't go ! I just got back from cabo san lucas mexico a few days ago. Except for the major freeway, most of the roads are dirt roads and even the paved ones are washed out and scary as hell. I wouldn't ride there at all. If you break down there, chances are there won't be parts nearby either. Whatever you ride, I'd suggest taking every spare part you can think of, tools, and the ability to fix anything on the side of the road in 100 degree heat. Best of luck to you buddy. |
