Is it ok to use superglue on the brakes? |
Hi NEVER!!! No, you can't use superglue for a brake repair. Dont believe what you hear about Superglue all the time, if you put that on your brakes you'll end up in an accident, be wise and save up for a new set, better still go to your local bike shop for help, most will when it means your future custom, and by the way, if your caught in an accident due to the mistake of using Superglue you may find yourself paying out more than a new set of brakes. Superglue isn't all that it's cracked up to be. if I were you, I'd just replace that part, or the whole brake caliper if the part isn't available. No No No Fix them right! Take the bike to a shop. Superglue is not good really at filling holes it need very close fitting surfaces to work well. Epoxy (2 part) adnesives would probably work better but on brakes I would probably not risk either you might need to get new parts for it to be safe No, super glue isn't strong enough to keep the brake in place. Brakes are important and investing a few bucks on new brakes won't hurt your wallet or your body. DO NOT GLUE YOU BRAKES! |
