How to know the mechanics of a bike/motorcycle?

I want to know repairing of bikes by reading books on my own.

I mean an Indian Bike like Bajaj CT100 DLX.

Haynes do a Tech Book series,Motorcycle Basics Techbook 3515.There are more covering fuel systems,Electrical etc.

Get something like a Haynes or Chilton manual and read it. They're usually oriented toward the novice. Also go to your library and find books on (engine) mechanical theory and electrical theory. Changing parts is the easy part, being able to diagnose the problem and know which part to change is the hard part. It's vital that you understand how and why things do what they do. Or don't do is you're looking for a problem.

Buy some cheap Chinese tools and see of you can pick up an old worn out lawnmower engine at a lawnmower repair shop. The el-cheapo ones are basically throw away engines and you should be able to either talk the guy out of one or at least get one for a few bucks. Many libraries have shop manuals for the common Briggs & Stratton or Tecumseh engines. Get one and take the engine apart and put it back together. While very simple, lawnmower engines still operate on the same principles as do Indy car engines.

the best way to learn is through experience....
Get a bike an ride it for a few years.....the problems that come on the way would make u learn ....
that is the best hand on experience
