Do you know of a good website that'll show me how to repair a bicycle? |
I'm looking for some detailed info on how to take apart a bicycle and then put it back together again. I've acquired a perfectly good bicycle for free but it does need some TLC. I'm too scared to start taking it apart until I know how to put it back together again. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/ has a bunch of great technical info on bicycles that can help guide you in the right direction (see the servicing tips section.) He is very thorough and describes many types of bikes (including older ones) Source(s): http://sheldonbrown.com/repair/index.htm... It would help if you said what type of bicycle it is and what repairs you are planning to carry out? http://www.bikewebsite.com/ Changing tires is simple, the web is fine for that. Some other things are not - suspension, depending on the bike, can be very tricky and you may need special tools. Call around to local bike shops, ask if they'd do a checkup and tuneup, and let you watch and learn. Or, look for local bike clubs, see if they offer maintenance clinics. Good luck. |
