Does anybody know how to make a bicycle dynamo using easily accessible parts?

Hi,
I would like to make a dynamo for my Raleigh Mustang Silver&Red colour bike (my last one got when I gave my bike for repairs at Hayes Halfords! and if I buy another dynamo it would cost me a whoppin 拢60).

Is it possible to make it out of easily accessible parts and where can I get these from?

Also will it have more or the same power than a dynamo that I buy from Raleigh?

I have looked around in Google and Yahoo on how it works but when it comes to making it I have had no luck!

you could probably make one if u wanted to but it would not be anywhere close to the dynamo that you buy from raleigh
